Does the district have to provide day care transportation for my child?
It depends on the districts transportation policy. In one case the district had a transportation policy that outlined the boundaries within which it would provide transportation for students. The student attended a day care center outside the transportation boundaries established by the district and the district refused to provide the student with transportation to and from day care. The court found in the districts favor. This means that a district may establish arbitrary transportation boundaries, and refuse to provide transportation to students outside those boundaries as long as the deviation from the districts policy is for the parents convenience rather than the educational needs of the child.
